M3

Mazerati Murder Machine burst on the scene in 1980, performing at backyard bbq’s and house parties all over the DC metro area, at it’s core it was Atari B. on the mic and DJ Krohme on the turntables but they quickly expanded to include additional artists. Specifically, musicians with instruments that Atari and Krohme were looking to purchase and implement into production but found themselves continually spending profits on massive amounts of jewelry.

Eventually they began to develop a reputation for their funky beats and Atari’s complex delivery and in 1984 were approached by Russell Simpson, a local promoter who was putting together a record label and expressed interested in M3. Unfortunately, Russell was kidnapped while looking for talent in Turkey and was never heard from again.

It was a difficult setback, but they persevered and were able to record a plethora of material over the years that was guaranteed to propel them to stardom but when the tapes were lost during a tragic boating accident, Atari B. and his recently acquired robot sidekick, DefOne 2000, left the group out of frustration and Mazerati Murder Machine soon disbanded.

The material has recently resurfaced and will be released through Godsendant Music, along with new material to balance out the project.
